Buff Point 176

House design that steps back in time

The challenge for this project was to make the building appear more established than it actually was.

This unique design consisted of a single story 3-bedroom weatherboard house on a sloping site, which had strong architectural features including eave friezes, double posts, sandstone and gabled roof windows.

The client wanted a more traditional style house rather than a modern one, and wanted the house to appear much more established than its 2014 construction. Consisting of a large open plan living area and deck overlooking Budgewoi Lake, the house design resolution is a nod to the past.
